CLEARCREEK TOWNSHIP Residents in the Villages of Winding Creek new home development are upset about a plan to remove their mailboxes and replace them with community cluster mailboxes. Residents received a letter Thursday, November 19, 2015, from the developer, CESO, informing them of the change. Kwana Jones Becker said she found out some changes were coming when she noticed recently she hadnt had mail delivery for several days.
I called the post office asking wheres my mail because Ive got shipping notifications from Amazon.com and Etsy.com saying they shipped me items but I dont have them, said Becker, who moved in to her new home six months ago. She said when she went to the post office the items and other mail were being held. A postal worker told her the homes in her neighborhood were being changed to cluster mailboxes
Residents say more than 60 homes received the letter which showed two locations for the cluster mailboxes. One location is across the street from Beth Bohms’ new home. She has lived there for nearly a year. She said she chose her lot because of the amount of green space around it. Bohms tried to talk to someone at the Washington Township branch of the U.S. Postal Service, but it didn’t go well.
THE POSTAL SERVICE IS GETTING OUT OF THE “KEY” BUSINESS AND HAS BEEN HEADING THAT WAY FOR AWHILE. SO WHO IS DOING THE REPAIRS OR CHANGING THE LOCKS ON THE CENTRALIZED UNITS? AT WHAT PRICE? THE USPS HAS INSTALLED THESE UNITS ON STREETS THAT ARE RENTAL HOMES/BUSINESS BUILDINGS..WHO KEEPS TRACK OF THE KEYS? NOT THE PO ANYMORE.
