– Officials with the United States Postal Service say they have fired a North Texas mail carrier for skipping part of his route and not delivering a significant amount of mail by simply marking the letters and packages ‘return to sender.’
A number of items returned included voter registration cards and that’s now caused concern for Dallas County elections officials.
A single voter’s complaint led the Dallas County Elections Department to investigate and discover the post office delivery issue.
On Tuesday Dallas County Commissioners heard from elections administrator Toni Pippins-Poole. She told city leaders that a City Carrier Assistant working in Irving had been cutting his route short and stamping undelivered mail return to sender.

There is an inherent and self-serving need amoungst postal employees and unions to blame everything on maneement. Gotta have a bad guy. I don’t see too many on this blog placing blame on the lazy ass malingering employee looking for a way out of doing their job. Make Telly pay!

See what happens when the USPS uses even lower paid people? It’s going to get much worse because given the lower pay and time it will take to go regular and then actually start earning decent money, CCA’s just don’t have the resolve and determination. Of course it’s dead wrong to do what this CCA was doing, under pressure or not, but it’s just getting started. And I agree that management has delayed more mail than anybody with short staffing, retarded late starting times and just plain incompetence. No accountability while Donohoe is around, or until an independent agency that doesn’t answer to those morons gets to seriously investigate all the wrongdoing. I’m not losing sleep over that happening.
Yet another, prime example of when a craft worker delays the mail, they’re punished.
