GREENSBORO, N.C. A turkey attacked a mail carrier Tuesday while she was on her route in a neighborhood in northwest Greensboro.
Guilford County Animal Control says the turkey attacked her from behind when she was walking back to her truck after delivering a letter at a home.
FOX8 spoke with the mail carrier over the phone. She told us shes OK but was really scared.
Thomas Dew saw the attack and says the turkey has been in the neighborhood for the past couple years. He said the turkey is beginning to wear out his welcome.
Hes been getting progressively more aggressive. I think its because hes less afraid of people, explains Thomas Dew, who lives in the same neighborhood as the turkey.
Mail carriers in the area know all about the turkey and the attack. Jenice Dawkins says the turkey is scary and wants him to go.
