Video: UPS Works to Catch Up on Delayed Deliveries

UPS is working to catch up on delivery delays for customers across Dallas-Fort Worth following last week’s crippling ice storm.

Chelsea Seaton, of Grapevine, is one of many local customers who are still waiting for a delivery that had been scheduled to arrive late last week.

“It’s in Mesquite,” Seaton told NBC 5, of the distribution facility where her package has been sitting since the day the storm began. “It’s been in Mesquite since Thursday; mine along with however many thousands of other packages.”

UPS will not confirm the number of packages that have been piling up at its six North Texas distribution facilities in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Denton, Mesquite and at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

The global package delivery service has brought in employees from other parts of the country to help reduce the backlog, as well as brought on its regular, seasonal employees – who number around 2,000 – to help sort and deliver the packages.
