SHEBOYGAN — Police are investigating a fire in a U.S. Postal Service mailbox Sunday evening on Sheboygan’s south side.

Just after 6 PM, the Sheboygan Fire Department responded to a report of a mailbox on fire at South 12 Street and Clara Avenue, in front of the US Bank.

When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the mailbox and a passerby with a fire extinguisher attempting to put out the fire. Firefighters requested the Sheboygan Police Department to respond to the scene for possible arson.
