Credit card policy at USPS

If your strategy for protecting yourself is to leave your signature off your cards and write “See ID” instead, not only is your game plan ineffective it’s outdated.

USPS doesn’t accept credit cards unless they are signed on the back. If you write “see id” on your card to protect yourself from id thieves they won’t accept your id as proof of identity. They will force you to sign the card or use other payment. Signatures are not required on debit cards used with a Personal Identification Number (PIN).

  1. I had no idea the post office was so powerful. I just checked my credit and debit cards and every one of them says, “NOT VALID UNLESS SIGNED”. I guess the post office made the issuers of these cards print that, since it’s just a post office policy and not the credit card companies requiring this!!

The state of journalism, folks!!! We’re doomed!!
