YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash.– A postal worker in Naches is no longer handling any mail. That’s after investigators say the employee was stealing it.
Samuel Gatlin lives right across the street from the Naches Post Office. He’s concerned after learning a postal worker was stealing mail at the facility.
“Anybody can be a victim of crime, none of us are immune,” Gatlin said.
The case is being handled by the USPS State Office of Inspector General. Inspectors aren’t saying what was taken only that the crimes took place this year between May 8th and June 27th. They won’t say if the employee at the center of it actually delivered the mail or worked inside the building. KIMA learned that employee is off the job.
