According to USPS, six Nashville mail carriers were taken to the hospital due to injuries suffered while trying to complete their routes as they followed the words of the Postal Creed which states, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these carriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
Officials with the postal service told News 2 they attempt to complete all routes, but when the conditions make it unsafe, mail is not delivered.
In addition to the postal workers who were injured during falls, a number of delivery vehicles were damaged in wrecks.
According to USPS spokesman David Walton, there were no injuries in the wrecks.
