On October 6, 2014, in the Norfolk, Virginia District Court, Jeffrey Jones, former President of National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) Branch #6066 (located in Chesapeake, Va.), was charged with one count of embezzlement from a labor organization, in violation of 29 U.S.C. 501(c), for embezzling $7,649 from the union.

Jones is charged with embezzling the union funds from  July 2011 through January 2013, the exact dates being unknown.

An initial appearance and plea agreement hearing is set for November 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Norfolk Courtroom 2 before District Judge Henry C. Morgan Jr..
