A postal employee has been suspended under allegations of financial irregularities.

“Special agents with the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS OIG) in Cleveland  are currently conducting an investigation involving financial irregularities discovered during an unannounced audit at the West Unity post office,” USPS OIG Special Agent Scott Balfour said via email Tuesday morning.

“USPS OIG special agents believe they have identified the individual responsible for those irregularities,” he continued

He declined to identify the person in question, but he said they had been suspended, pending the outcome of the investigation.
