YONKERS — A masked gunman robbed a South Broadway post office and struck a worker before making off with an undisclosed amount of money Monday evening, officials said.
The armed robbery occurred about 5 p.m. at the Yonkers South Station, 355 S. Broadway, said Donna Harris, a spokeswoman for the New York division of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service investigating the incident.
The man, wearing a yellow shirt, black ski mask and black baseball cap, entered the building holding a handgun, she said. He struck a postal truck driver before leaving with money, Harris said. The driver appeared to have suffered minor injuries, she said
