DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – The United States Postal Service has launched an investigation after residents in DeKalb County reported to Channel 2 Action News seeing a worker dumping several bins of mail in the woods.
A Channel 2 Action News viewer sent Tyisha Fernandes video and photos of the mail in the woods behind a subdivision in Decatur.
After seeing the mail for ourselves, we contacted the USPS. They sent investigators to the scene and they filled more than a dozen bins with dumped mail.

While there is no excuse for this behavoir, two mgmt. actions directly lead to these weekly stories of casual postal workers doing this:
– the creation of the pse/cca class of low pay, low benefits workers. You get what you pay for.
These type of stories exploded once these worker classes were created.
– the implementation of the dois system, mgmts fixation on it’s unrealistic numbers (part of their bonuses), and the resulting harassment, intimidation, and bullying by mgmt. to the above workers to meet these numbers.
They need postal inspectors in every office. This is happening mostly in every office cause of poor Management and horrible hiring. They need to hire people with integrity!
How can you relate this to the union, looks like employer, employee problem?
I guarantee the NALC will not condone this, but will look into the facts. Because you never know willy Jeff Clinton management mite just attach your name to this !!!
I know when you work at USPS you have to take the abuse for the actions of the many. The problem is even theft, and every other sin under the sun . When you look at the public, what would you think.
When this clown gets caught he will give them the standard old union line ” I was just doing my best”.
you must be a supervisor! how about the supervisor’s standard old line “pivot and oh yea I counted the mail”
