CLINTON, Miss. – News Channel 12 received this video from a viewer. In the clip you can see a woman throwing packages on the back of a United States Postal Service truck.
An employee at the East Lawson Street post office in Clinton confirmed with us that the person in the video is a supervisor. A spokesperson with USPS released this statement concerning the incident:
VIDEO: Clinton USPS Supervisor Throws Mail On Truck
I’m so sick of these videos. As someone has already stated: Parcels are “thrown” from the time they cross the counter. Unless it says ‘fragile’ why wouldn’t they be? This is how they get sorted. How about showing a video of postal operations or even UPS or FedEx??? They would all be the same, and it’s not a big deal. Again, I could see if it were marked ‘fragile.’
Find something else to complain about…
This looks like it was recorded on postal property. If it’s an employee who recorded it they can lose their job. The supervisor should be suspended for doing barganing unit work and for carelessly handling the mail.
This is what happen….when the package did not have “handle with care” label on it. Forgive her only she if does her grocery into her trunk too.
Must be a manager. They were probably pissed off because they were understaffed and crossed lines and loaded that route and maybe others against the contract. Regular carriers, most of us anyway, sort parcels in route order so we don’t miss one on the route. It’s almost impossible to catch every parcel thrown in like that especially if you don’t know the route. I’ll bet at least half of those packages didn’t get delivered. That supervisor is the reason we’re in trouble. They just don’t care. How she threw those parcels is exactly what she thinks of her carriers and customers, make no mistake. Never believe anything a Postal Service manager tells you.
And the point of this video is? Anyone that is amazed by this is unfamiliar with how the parcel shipping industry functions. come back when there is really something to report on.
I’m sure if the person loading this LLV was loading from a six inch curb instead of a 4 ft dock the load would have been different. I’ve loaded from both and the 6 inch curb is much better. It is obvious that this person is not delivering the loaded parcels. I still would have placed the parcel in the back of the LLV instead of the way she is loading….
somebody should throw HER off the platform. after the truck has moved, of course.
if you line up 100 supervisors that where letter carriers in the past, 70 of them where sorry ass letter carriers they went into management because they could not do the job as a letter carrier. yea we throw parcels, if this is to much check out UPS or FEDEX at their distribution center’s it’s like football. Most parcel box’s are rated to with stand a 3 to 6 foot drop, she is within that rate.
Hope the carrier filed a grievance on the supervisor doing their work. There is no way management can hide behind safety or training.
Hope the carrier filed a grievance for bargaining unit work. There’s no way the supervisor can hide behind safety or training.
NOT: Our carriers in Hickory,NC DO NOT throw the mail on their LLV’s, they place all mail in an orderly fashion. Sorry bout that OLE MISS.
If it were to have a “fragile” or “Glass” or some sort of wording that informs us the parcel is breakable, it doesn’t get sent “air-mail” when sorting. No one tries to break things but it does happen….oh wait they aren’t killing jobs all across the US so we should walk every parcel and gently place them neatly! Check this out, you CAN’T have your cake and eat it too!! If you think like Darrel Issa you may THINK you can but one day your going to wake up in a S*$T pile mail mess!!!
Nothing different than what you see inside the office with the way the clerks throw parcels 20 feet into postcons and hampers when sorting parcels in local office. Probably the same as when sorted into bmc at the msc’s also. Carriers get them damaged broken and smashed all the time. We just scan them damaged at delivery. This is nothing new, just another boss who doesn’t give a sh##.
What’s the big deal. This happens thousands of times daily all across the USA
parcels r thrown from the time they cross the counter
