Southern Colorado letter carrier William Searuggs

January 31, 2015 – Postal worker William Searuggs sprang into action when he found his long-time customer bleeding and barely conscious inside his own home.

Searuggs has been delivering mail for the United States Postal service for 15 years, five of those years on his current route in Security/Widefield.

On January 14, he was delivering mail to 86-year-old Max Patterson, when he noticed something was wrong.
Searuggs: “I saw blood here and the blood on the hand railing here, and as I preceded to put the mail in the box, that’s when I heard Mr. Patterson scream ‘Help, help, come in, come in.'” Read more
