11/26/17 SOUTH BEND — Shippers and online retailers are gearing up for Cyber Monday.
We’ve entered the busiest shopping period of the season. That means the number of customers mailing and shipping is expected to increase significantly in the next few weeks.
In order to make sure those packages arrive on time for the holidays, select post offices will be open on Sundays through Christmas.
According to the United States Postal Service, it expects to deliver 850 million packages between this Sunday and New Year’s Day, plus more than 15 billion total pieces of mail this holiday season.
This is a critical time for small business owners like Sharon Barrett of South Bend. She says having the post office open an extra day is a huge benefit.
