New York Postal worker continues tradition of hosting Thanksgiving for community

11/21/17 NEW YORK, NY – Miguel Perdomo has met a lot of people in his 29 years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He’s also built many relationships on his route in East Harlem for 16 years. So much so, this will be the eleventh year he continues a special tradition for those that need some extra help on Thanksgiving.

Perdomo's co-workers and local businesses donate whatever they can to help make this neighborhood tradition possible.

“Come to my dinner on Thanksgiving Day. I’m going to put a flyer right there. You’re going to see it tomorrow,” he tells someone.

With 20-plus turkeys, mac and cheese, candied yams, and more — he’ll be stuffing their bellies instead of their mailboxes.
