Engaging employees
Postal Pulse aims to strengthen USPS workplaces
Engaging employees will help USPS better serve the public, Chief Human Resources Officer Jeff Williamson says in a new video about the Postal Pulse.
“We must focus on creating an engaging environment that will make us more effective in serving our customers, collaborating with our partners and helping each of you thrive in your careers,” Williamson says.
The Postal Pulse employee survey will be administered from Monday, March 16, through Friday, April 3. It will replace the longstanding Voice of the Employee survey.
The streamlined questions will yield better data that supervisors and managers can use to put employees’ feedback into action, Williamson says.
He explains how the Postal Pulse will work: Employees are not required to answer the questions in a group setting, and they can complete the survey on the clock at a time agreed upon with supervisors.
Postal Career Executive Services and Executive and Administrative Schedule employees can take the survey online.
Williamson urges everyone to participate.
“You have always been our organization’s greatest strength and we are committed to ensuring the Postal Service remains the best place to work,” he says.
when I see that logo for postal pulse and think of postal circus……I see flat line. crash cart can’t fix stupid!
Upward mobility for misfits by havoc control managers to instill workplace fear is management style entrenched in most level 20 and above offices. Misfits are rewarded by being promoted whether they have any job knowledge or managerial skills. Degree in forced stress management is key in placing misfits to create workplace fear. Amazing to see OIC misfits that main management forte is fear
factor. VOE, CRY FOR WORPLACE HUMANE TREATMENT.
Years ago carriers clocked in at 6 am to prep their job earlier the better to deliver before dusk comes in instead of having them come either 7:30 or 8:30 am.
What happen to V.E.R. ? Why not offer this opportunity before they downsize jobs etc.
The Titanic is sinking, they are doing away with jobs, closing plants left and right, screwing over employees, taking away livelihoods, transferring others into crafts they do not want to be in and they talk about an “engaging” environment and helping postal employees “thrive” in their careers. How in the HELL can anyone “thrive” in their career when they know it is just a matter of time before their job is on the chopping block. Wonder if there is a place for comments on this survey? The VOE did not have a section for comments, b/c the postal svc does not CARE what the employees really, think, they just manipulate the questions to be what they want them to be. The question like is the Postal Svc a good place to work? Well, the pay is good, but the working conditions are HELL!!!! What answer do they want? It really doesn’t matter how you answer the question, same old CRAP!!! Nothing ever gets done. I remember the time district sent down work place improvement coordinators to our now closed plant, and this was looooooong before the plant was even going to close and the employees were PROMISED confidentiality about what was said. You think it happened? And do you think the working environment “improved”. Got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you if you think it did. The postal service, what a joke.
everyone go in and write just one thing………….we need a 10% raise! get up and walk out.
You can change the name of the employee “survey” a thousand times and I still will refuse to participate. I will never knowingly be a party to postal propaganda. I’m certain this Williamson character is just another overpaid, worthless postal puppet that would sell his mother to better his position with management. Take your “survey” and shove it, Williamson!
Here is a way to get to your engaging environment: START THE CARIERS AT 7:30 INSTEAD OF 8:30. STOP DELAYING THE DELIVERY OF THE MAIL. BEING OUT ON THE STREET AT 8:00 AT NIGHT IS STUPID. AND GET THE NO-NOTHING STUPIDVISORS OFF OUR ASS AND LET US DO OUR JOBS.
As 20yr letter carrier I see what you think of me ever single day, no matter how hard I work. So thanks but no thanks. If me telling you to your face about the treatment of us doesn’t stop the harrassing, I doubt a survey would benefit any one but you!!! Committed to ensuring the PO is the best place to work. Please!!!! I’ve seen lots of surveys on the Brest places to work, don’t remember the PO in the top thousand!!
I’ve. Been in this business for close to thirty years, never….that’s never has management taken any suggestions from employees. So why should the same program with a different name be any different?
help us thrive in the workplace thats the funniest thing ive heard in weeks.how about mr williamsom start following the contract,do some thing about bad supervisiors, hold the clowns who have screwed up the plant closings accounable,no dont kick them up higher in management food chain.have a REAL safety program instead of one the is used to screw over employees for minor accidents.make sure that dispiline is done properly and fairly.and cut HQ by 95%.
It’ll be a cold day in Hell before I participate in another idiotic survey that’s only designed to tell upper level management whether or not to clamp down on underlings if they get too many favorable marks and make those PM’s and supervisors be meaner and more discipline crazy.
Plus, the skewered information will be used at contract meetings where management will try to convince arbitrators that the craft love them and all their ideas.
Don’t be a fool. Don’t participate, or if you do, send in a blank form. USPS management hates you, the employee, couldn’t care less what you think, and thinks you’re an imbecile.
To those of you who posted comments here . Bravo!! This is where management needs to start if they really want to address their problems
