Sept. 19 — A sign that said “Make America Great Again”—the slogan for Republican Donald Trump’s campaign for president—has been removed from a post office in Colorado after the U.S. Office of Special Counsel contacted the facility’s postmaster, the OSC said.
The OSC told the postmaster that the sign’s display by an employee violated the Hatch Act, which bars federal workers from engaging in partisan political activity while on duty or in the workplace, the agency said in a statement Sept. 19.
The Trump-supporting U.S. Postal Service employee is not the only federal worker who has heard from the OSC, the agency said. This is one of several recently resolved cases involving federal employees who have improperly posted displays in their workplace expressing support for or opposition to partisan election candidates. The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) has recently resolved cases involving federal employees who have posted displays in their workplace expressing support for or opposition to partisan election candidates. The Hatch Act prohibits federal employees from engaging in partisan political activity while on duty or in the workplace.
A U.S. Postal Service employee in Colorado displayed a “Make America Great Again” – the slogan of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign – behind the desk at the post office. OSC contacted the postmaster of that facility and advised that the Hatch Act prohibited display of the sign. OSC confirmed that the sign was immediately removed from the post office.
The Hatch Act ensures that federal executive branch programs are administered in a nonpartisan fashion and therefore prohibits federal employees from engaging in partisan activity while on duty or in the workplace. There are a few narrow exceptions. For example, federal employees are allowed to have one bumper sticker per candidate on a car parked in an agency parking lot, so long as the car does not appear to be a campaign-mobile. “In the last few months of the presidential election season, these cases are reminders to all federal employees to refrain from engaging in partisan political activity in the workplace,” said Special Counsel Carolyn Lerner. “We want federal employees to be involved in the political process, but they must wait until they’re off the clock and out of the office to express support or opposition to partisan candidates or political groups.”

If the Hatch Act is used fairly no problem. The problem is seen in greater detail when
people in positions of power are holdings meeting with other people under
investigation or family. Then it leaves the person wondering if there is any justice left.
Even though Mr. bankruptcy has stated that American workers are over paid, and should take pay cuts, is against the minimum wage, hates unions, and has said”rich people are better than poor people” go ahead and vote for your own destruction! My retirement and health care will be cut, however you will have much more taken from you. So go ahead and vote against your self! And as for your union that you hate, that will be gone.
