Houston USPS workers not getting paid on time

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – 01.06.15 – Houston post office employees say they are not getting paid on time. It’s happening at a Houston mail processing facility that has been the center of customer complaints about slow mail delivery.

Employees we spoke with say they have not been paid on time. At least one worker is still waiting for her check.

“When Tuesday came, the day that I get paid, it said zero, zero,” employee Brittany Moore said.

Moore says her last pay check from the US Post Office did not arrive on time and she still does not have the money in her account days later. Moore says it’s making life very difficult.

“I have to go up and tell my landlord I don’t have nothing to pay them with,” she said. Read more

  1. Let me set the record straight. I work at this facility and this is an ongoing problem with holiday pse’ s and employees who choose not to have direct deposit. Regardless what excuse the postal service gives this is unacceptable no one should have to work for free. This problem occurred during the holidays which makes it even worse. I realize all the facts were not given in this story but we should not be so quick to jump to conclusions.

  2. What a sad state of affairs when the media doesn’t bother checking its facts opting instead to be led down the primrose path by disgruntled union officers or employees. The universal pay-day in USPS for active employees is bi-weekly Fridays on the first week of the new pay period. You have weeks one and two….then you get paid for that pay period the following week. Contractors are the only ones that get paid whenever the check gets cut. Must’ve been a slow news day.

    • I doubt it very much that you get anything prior to the end of week even with direct deposit.

    • She probably meant her check stub, which does usually arrive before the actual pay day Friday.

    • that is correct OLD MAN my girlfriend whom works for the PO also gets her money posted to her Rush card on TUESDAY while my check doesnt post until Friday into my Bank of America account. now tell us something you really know about like when bread was a nickle.
