A Bakersfield community is fed up with mail thieves breaking into their mailbox and stealing their packages
Bakersfield, CA — A neighborhood experiencing mail theft keeps getting attacked and the people living there are fed up. “We’ve been reporting this to the post office, our carrier and the postal inspector – nationally – since April,” said Tuscany community resident Brenda Haught.
She said criminals have been breaking into her community mailbox for more than a year, stealing everything they can get their hands on. “I would say in our neighborhood we’ve probably had at least over 300, 400 packages stolen.”
Haught said the latest robbery happened just three days ago. Her mail box was left open and was completely wiped out. She’s been reporting the problem to the U.S. Postal Service, but it’s to no avail. Read more
