An air conditioner had malfunctioned, a USPS spokesman said. Employees said temperatures were nearly 100 degrees since mid-week.

Dozens of postal employees sickened by heat at River North facility
Oh yeah we’ve got some real geniuses in Mgmt. Mgr. said to me “It’s hot everwhere, even outside” (DUH!). “It’s a plant, not your house, some people will be uncomfortable.”
insane world we live when there is no a/c for employees but mgmt. has it.
are there labor laws on the books over 85 degrees and lets include the heat index
STEP UP TO THE PLATE OSHA AND DO SOMETHING…….
Our facility in Texas had indoor temps at the lobby/window of 84 degrees. We called to complain to OSHA and they said “we don’t regulate temperature indoors because the employer is not required to provide AC.” They offered to make a courtesy call to our district safety office.
Thank god that the local hero’s were one the scene. This could have been like
Pontiac, Michigan, or other Michigan locations were the problems went unreported.
In Michigan the problems are just hidden for years like flint, Detroit, and else where.
The people here wonder how many more year before the right things are done.
We don’t need no more window dressing, just some honest government!.
I work in the vehicle maintenance facility of the St. Louis, MO Post Office. We have never had air conditioning. In the summer the temperature routinely is above 100 degrees. We had to file a grievance to force management to buy sports drinks for us. They are still complaining about it. The 2 water fountains have not made cold water for most of this year. This is the stupidity we constantly are dealing with while management sits in their air conditioned offices.
