ENSEN BEACH — 4/4/17 – A postal worker was arrested Monday after deputies said she stole $904 of mail containing checks and gift cards from at least four customers, according to a Martin County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.
Robin Lee Poetzsch, 59, of the 3700 block of Northwest Mediterranean Lane, Jensen Beach, was charged with tampering with evidence and five counts of petty theft.
Two people between March 8 and 10 reported to deputies they mailed gift cards from the U.S. post office in the 2300 block of Northeast Savannah Road in Jensen Beach but the cards never reached their destination, the report states. The Sheriff’s Office got video from a Target store in Jensen Beach on U.S. 1 they said shows Poetzsch using the gift cards on Feb. 14 and 15.
Poetzsch is a 14-year post office employee who mainly worked at the Jensen Beach post office, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Read more at TC Palm
