USPS requires training on USERRA for all postal execs, managers

usps userra trainingUSPS requires training on the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)  for all Postal Career Executive Service, Payband and Executive and Administrative Schedule employees who are managers or who provide guidance on employment-related matters.

Employees who hold these positions must complete USERRA training by March 31.

USERRA prohibits discrimination based on military service and provides employment protections to career and non-career employees who have served in the military or who leave employment to perform military service.

The course, Understanding USERRA, course number 10017951, is web-based and operator-paced. It’s available through the USPS Learning Management System and takes approximately 45 minutes.

  1. I am the military veteran who was harrased by my Stephanie Peirson manager and supervisors for 18 about serving in the air force reserve. I filed 7 EEO’s for them not paying me for 15 pay adjustments. The NALC union failed me I had to go to the APWU union for help. They costantlly harrassed me. But now every person in management takes the USERRA test every year. Plus My manager had to sign a finacial aggreement never to finacially harm me again for the rest of my career. Also in March 2012 PMG added to the postal EEO another criteria, past, present or futher military service the can not discriminate against the military. So every veteran in the post office now has a voice now. The EEO process sucks and they have no intensions of solving cases. Mr. Grimm in Tampa and Mr. Barnhart in DC do not even look at cases just tell you you don’t have a case. But we do have a voice and don’t give up!!!

  2. Same thing happened to my friend 15 years ago. Luckily the bs stopped at the district level so they only had to pay him back wages for about a year.

Supervisors never have accountability. No authority tied to their responsibilities.

The basic leadership and supervision of supervisors is missing. Replaced with micro management. The same supervisor who has free reign to settle huge grievances with their friends and harass good workers who they see as their enemies are being told how to clean their desk. TRUE. INSANE. NO ONE OUTSIDE the PO has any idea.

  3. And they still break the laws and violate the contracts with impunity and no accountability.

  4. All USPS managers and supervisors have been required to take this training for at least 3 years now.

  5. Big deal. They cost the USPS millions of dollars, and what is the punishment ?

Some bs training, that’ll be nothing more than a paid vacation.

    Typical of all postal EAS/mgmt.
